Indianapolis Woman Charged With Murder In Fatal Fire

(LEBANON) - An Indianapolis woman charged with murder in connection with the fire death of a Lebanon man told officers she started the blaze to gain attention.

Forty-two-year-old Tina Hoover also faces three counts three counts of arson with bodily injury in the May 21 fire that killed 44-year-old David Dickerson and injured two law enforcement officers and Dickerson's wife, Angela.

Lebanon Police Detective Tony Bayles testified during a hearing Friday that Hoover said she intended for everyone to escape the Dickersons' mobile home safely but she could not wake David Dickerson.

Boone County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Kent Eastwood said toxicology reports showed that David Dickerson been drinking alcohol that night. Coroners say he died from smoke inhalation.

Hoover is jailed without bond. It's not clear if she has an attorney.
