(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Revenue will host its annual public hearing Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, passed by the Indiana General Assembly in 1989, requires the department to hold an annual public hearing. The purpose of the annual public hearing is to offer taxpayers an opportunity to express concerns and/or suggest changes in departmental policies, statutes, processes and procedures to help the department better administer Indiana tax laws.

Those who cannot attend are encouraged to participate by writing a letter to the department to be read aloud during the annual public hearing. Letters should indicate they are for the annual public hearing and be mailed to:

Indiana Department of Revenue
Commissioner's Office
MS #101
100 N. Senate Ave.
Indianapolis, IN 46204

Taxpayers also may submit their suggestions to be read at the annual public hearing by sending them to feedback@dor.in.gov with the subject line "Annual Hearing".
