Hostess Recalling Snack Cakes Because Of Possible Peanut Residue In Them

Last updated on Monday, June 6, 2016

(UNDATED) - Hostess has issued a recall.

Hostess issued the voluntary recall Friday after a supplier, Grain Craft, recalled flour with low levels of undeclared peanut residue. The snack cakes were made with that flour, prompting Hostess to take action. The recall involves 710,000 cases of products.

The recall includes Ding Dongs, Zingers, Chocodiles and different types of donuts. The products were sold at stores in the United States and Mexico.

Someone with an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts could suffer a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if exposed to peanut allergens. Hostess said the amount of peanut exposure from the products is considered low, but the company has received two reports of allergic reactions related to products in the recall.

Customers with the affected products can discard them or return them to the seller for a full refund.

You can find a full list of the affected products here.
