Hillary Clinton To Speak At U.S. Conference Of Mayors In Indianapolis

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will speak at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Indianapolis on June 26.

Hundreds of mayors from around the country will attend the 84th annual event. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will speak at 4:30 pm.

Both Clinton and Republican rival Donald Trump were invited to speak at the meeting, and to discuss The 2016 Mayors' Compact for a Better America: A Call to Action, which prioritizes urban issues. The candidates were asked to talk about their plan to strengthen the federal-local partnership and build strong cities and metro economies.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett will host the event, along with USCM President Baltimore (MD) Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

The mayors will release a new report with economic forecasts for all of the nation's 363 metropolitan areas. USCM will also give cash awards totaling more than $1 million to cities showcasing best practices in the areas of climate protection, community development, and college & career-readiness training. The mayors' meeting runs from Friday June 24th to Monday, June 27th.
