(UNDATED) - Children and families can get outside and have fun at events across the state to celebrate Nature Play Days, June 11-19.

The Indiana Children and Nature Network is coordinating with DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife (DFW) and other organizations across the state to host Nature Play Days. Parks, camps and other venues will provide activities for fun and learning.

Nature Play Days kicks off with activities on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis on June 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include fishing games, birdwatching, observing live critters and more.

Other events include fishing days and hikes across central Indiana, mountain biking in Terre Haute, insect hunts and bug bingo in Michigan City and South Bend, and a kayak race in Hobart. Campfires, hikes and other fun will take place from Clarksville and Evansville to Muncie and Albion and many towns in between.

DFW staff and volunteers will offer fishing and birdwatching at Indy's Eagle Creek Park on June 13, at Carmel's West Park on June 14, and at Fort Harrison State Park on June 15. Activities on each of the three days run from 10 a.m. to noon.
