Last updated on Friday, June 17, 2016

(NOBLE CO.) - The Indiana State Police and the Noble County Sheriff Department are asking for the public’s help as they continue to work to solve a fatal hit and run crash which occurred on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Noble County Sheriff Deputies found 47 year old Anastacio Lopez of Syracuse lying dead in a corn field in the area of County Roads 1200 W and 550 N, which is southwest of Ligonier. According to investigators, it is believed that Lopez was struck by a Dodge pickup truck, model years 1994-2001, and at the time would have had damage to the front driver's side corner.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Deven Hostetler said "Whoever hit Mr. Lopez is dealing with extreme guilt and remorse and it is likely those involved have told someone about their involvement".

A reward of $2,000 is being offered for any information which may lead to the identification of the person or persons involved in this incident. The public is asked to call either Noble County Crime Stoppers at (800) 431-2330 or the Indiana State Police at (260) 432-8661 or (800) 552-0976 (Indiana only).
