Marijuana Found In Fast Food Sack During Traffic Stop

(VIGO CO.) - Tuesday afternoon at 2:15, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Jason Schoffstall stopped a silver 2001 Dodge Neon for 51 miles-per-hour in a 30 miles-per-hour zone, westbound on Hulman Street near Watertree Subdivision.

During conversations with the driver, Master Trooper Schoffstall noticed a strong odor of what appeared to be burnt marijuana inside the vehicle as well as other criminal indicators. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 22 grams of marijuana inside a fast food sack on the front passenger floorboard.

The driver, 23-year-old Michael Austin Rogers of Clay City was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated - refusal, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
