Last updated on Tuesday, May 3, 2016

(PORTER) - The Indiana Dunes Birding Festival will host a public “Migration Marketplace” on Saturday, May 7, at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center in Porter.

The marketplace will feature organizations and businesses that support bird watching and nature and will feature products, demonstrations, giveaways and more.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT. No registration is required.

Visitors can collect information and purchase products from an assortment of vendors. Birding tour guides, Audubon societies and local organizations will share space with bird-related artists, feeder and birdhouse specialty stores, and optics companies.

Vendors will have products such as binoculars, monoculars and spotting scopes on hand so that customers can try them before they buy them. Additionally, local and regional nature-based organizations will share information on work being done in northwest Indiana.

The marketplace is part of the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival, May 5-8, which highlights birding opportunities in northwest Indiana.

The festival is being organized by the Indiana Audubon Society and includes both the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Indiana Dunes State Park as site hosts.
