Former Postal Worker Pleads Guilty To Stealing Mail Ordered Prescriptions

Last updated on Friday, May 27, 2016

(POSEY CO.) - A former Posey County postal carrier is admitting he stole packages instead of delivering them.

Lucas Kost pled guilty to theft and possession of a controlled substance after stealing prescriptions sent in the mail.

A judge sentenced him to one year probation, but if he gets in trouble, he's off to jail.

Kost must also go into drug and alcohol treatment.

14 News exclusively talked with one of the victims who told us Kost snatched his three-month supply of mail-order prescription pain pills.

That same victim said soon after his medicine disappeared, he ended up in the hospital and shared a room with Kost, who had just overdosed.
