Duke Energy Announced New Head Of Economic Development For Indiana

(PLAINFIELD) - Duke Energy has selected Erin Schneider to serve as director of economic development for its Indiana service territory.

"Duke Energy is well-known in Indiana for its effective economic development efforts," said Schneider. "Much of the company's success lies in partnering with local and regional economic development groups. I believe that, working together, we can increase the quality of life for all our customers through developing local and regional economies."

Before coming to Duke Energy, Schneider served for nine years in a wide variety of roles with the Indiana Department of Economic Development. Most recently, she served as director of business development and outside sales.

"Erin is well-versed in the vital role that economic development plays in growing our communities," said Marvin Blade, Duke Energy vice president for community relations and economic development for Indiana. "She understands the long-term nature of this work and will nurture the important person-to-person relationships that lead to economic growth."

Schneider earned her bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Ball State University. Originally from Greenwood, she now lives in Indianapolis with her husband and two sons.

Duke Energy Indiana's operations provide about 7,500 megawatts of owned electric capacity to approximately 810,000 customers in a 23,000-square-mile service area, making it the state's largest electric supplier.
