(WARRICK CO.) - The idea that Warrick County students could get an extra 30 minutes of sleep on school days is bringing a mixed bag of emotions for kids and their parents.

WFIE reports, the school board is looking to push back start times at all Warrick County schools.

A survey asking for parents to weigh in on the late start time can be found on the district's website. It asks parents a range of questions- from how this would affect their family schedules, to would it be beneficial for students.

Some parents liked the idea of a later school start time. Others said they wanted school hours to stay the way they are because a change would mess with daycare and work schedules.

Superintendent Brad Schnieder says research shows later start times make for a better learning environment.

A decision will be made in about 6 weeks.
