Last updated on Thursday, April 14, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb named Greg Wilson as Intergovernmental Relations Director. Wilson most recently served on the Cabinet of Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard as Director of the City’s Department of Minority and Women’s Business Development.

"We are thrilled to welcome Greg to the Lt. Governor's team. Given his extensive experience in city government and his important role as a community leader, he understands the issues that our mayors, town councils and other local officials face each day," said Lt. Governor Holcomb. "As a member of Mayor Ballard's cabinet, he was senior advisor on economic issues and worked closely with veteran-owned and minority small businesses throughout central Indiana."

Wilson will be responsible for sustaining and enhancing engagement efforts with local elected officials and key community leaders on behalf of Lt. Governor Holcomb, focusing on the innovative collaboration happening at the State agency level.

Holcomb added, "Greg is a true servant leader, someone whose experiences and perspectives from both the private and public sectors will be valuable to communities across the state."

Wilson was raised in Indianapolis and served in the U.S. Army for eight years. Returning to Indianapolis, he worked for the City's Department of Public Works and later for United Water, where he was supply chain manager. In 2008, he was appointed by Mayor Ballard to his Cabinet and served through the end of that Administration.

Wilson is the chairman of the Indiana Black Expo, a board member of Visit Indy and a partner and volunteer with the Indianapolis 10 Point Coalition, working to reduce violence in inner-city neighborhoods. He is also the founder of a non-profit inner-city horseback riding program aimed at developing life skills for vulnerable children in central Indiana.
