Last updated on Thursday, April 14, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Ivy Tech Community College Human Resources Training Specialist Adrienne Preddie has been selected by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) to participate in its Wildfire Program.

Preddie was one of six individuals nationwide selected for this career development opportunity through the national organization. The 12-month immersive program connects a small, select group of early-career higher education HR professionals with CUPA-HR, key association leaders and multiple learning opportunities.

"I was pleased to learn of Adrienne's interest when she made application and thrilled for her when she was selected to participate," said Julie Lorton-Rowland, Vice President of Human Resources at Ivy Tech Community College. "Adrienne personifies the 'pay it forward' model we embrace through our talent development programs and we look forward to her continued sharing of knowledge and resources that will enhance our HR profession."

Preddie has served as training specialist for Ivy Tech Community College for two years. She joined Ivy Tech in 2013 after spending 11 years with a nonprofit organization where she served as a senior program director. She has been in the CUPA-HR Wildfire program for eight months so far.

"Thanks to my participation in the Wildfire program, I feel as though my knowledge in the field of HR has quadrupled over the past few months," said Preddie. "I make sure to pay it forward by sharing everything I have learned with my colleagues at Ivy Tech, and I'm currently working on the creation of an e-learning course on stay interviews that I hope will be included as part of CUPA-HR's Essentials. The purpose of the Wildfire program is to spark a fire in the participants, and I am sure that my fellow cohort would agree that the flame shines bright in each of us!"
