(VINCENNES) - Vincennes firefighters are investigating the cause of a Monday fire at the La Fiesta restaurant on North Sixth Street.

According to Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff, smoke was coming from the rear of the building when he and other firefighters arrived on scene.

Upon entering the restaurant, Pinkstaff says smoke was coming from a vent over the kitchen area.

Firefighters found a small fire, which was quickly extinguished. They then used fans to ventilate the building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Pinkstaff suspects it was the result of grease build up in vent hood.
