Dozens Of Vehicles Had Tires Flattened By Metal On I-70

Last updated on Wednesday, April 13, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Dozens of vehicles had their tires flattened on an Indianapolis highway after police say pieces of scrap metal fell from a semitrailer.

The debris slowed Tuesday morning's commuter traffic as highway crews needed more than an hour to clean up the mess on a ramp from Interstate 70 to Interstate 465 on the city's southwest side.

State Police Sgt. John Perrine says the debris caused about 50 flat tires. He says officers found the truck but he didn't immediately give a cause for the spill. No injuries were reported.
