Death Investigation Continues After Body Found In Lake

(NORTH VERNON) - Monday morning, an autopsy was completed on 49-year-old Jama D. Brown of North Vernon.

Brown was found dead in a lake in the 1900 Block of East County Road 100 South, near North Vernon, around 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Following the autopsy, the Jennings County Coroner's Office made a determination that the cause of death was from drowning. Toxicology results are pending and could take four to six weeks for the toxicology results.

At this time, police say foul play is not suspected in Brown's death.It is unclear at this time why Brown ended up in the lake where she was found.

The Jennings County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police continue the investigation.
