Illegal Sale Of Wildlife Arrest Made In Culver

(CULVER) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested 71-year-old Willard "Doug" Corey, of Plymouth) and 45-year-old William "Bill" Strong of Argos on Wednesday after they found the men in possession and selling venison.

The investigation started after conservation officers were contacted saying Corey's Deer Processing, south of Plymouth were involved in the illegal possession and sale of deer meat.

Corey is the owner of the business along with his son-in-law Strong.

Corey was arrested on two felony counts of illegal sale of wildlife and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of deer.

Strong was arrested on two felony counts of conspiracy to of illegal sale of wildlife and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of deer.

Approximately 300-400 pounds of illegally possessed venison found at the shop was donated to local food banks.

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind everyone that the sale of wildlife is regulated by law.

Anyone that has information regarding the illegal sale of wildlife or any other wildlife crime is encouraged to call 1-800-TIP-IDNR.
