Carrier Will Keep Executive Jobs Here, But Most Jobs Still Going To Mexico

Last updated on Thursday, March 3, 2016

(STATEHOUSE) - Governor Pence says Carrier and United Technologies will keep 400 executive and research jobs in Indiana, but says the state’s still trying to save 21-hundred jobs from moving to Mexico.

Pence emerged from a meeting with executives from Carrier and its parent company UTEC to say the companies have agreed to repay local tax abatements and 400-thousand dollars in state job training grants.

He says the companies exit isn't final yet, and says until it is, the state will offer any help it can that might persuade them to stay.
