Threat Alert Issued For Martinsville High School

Last updated on Monday, February 1, 2016

(MARTINSVILLE) - Martinsville School officials issued an alert after a threat was directed at Martinsville High School.

The school district released this statement:

"The MSD of Martinsville is aware of what is believed to be a non-credible threat on social media against Martinsville HS that was posted last night and has since been removed. The threat included Martinsville HS along with 10 other schools across Indiana. We are working with local law enforcement to ensure everyone's safety. In the meantime, we ask our parents and students to not discuss this on any social media sites since this could lead to more attention directed at Martinsville HS. We will be even more vigilant during the next few days and, as always, keep your children's safety as our top priority. If it takes you longer to drop off or pick up your students or get buzzed into our buildings, we hope you are patient and understanding."

All buildings are affected by this alert.
