Evansville Teen Shot In Face

Last updated on Monday, February 15, 2016

(EVANSVILLE) - Evansville Police Sergeant Mark Saltzman says a 15-year-old was shot in the face Friday night.

It happened around 9 p.m. in the area of Garvin and Jackson.

They aren't releasing the victim's name because he is a juvenile.

The victim told officers he was with a group of people, just walking, and was suddenly shot. He says he doesn't know who shot him.

Sergeant Saltzman says the teen ran up to a nearby car and asked for help. The female driver, who he doesn't know, took him to the hospital, where he's being treated.

WFIE reports the teen doesn't appear to have life threatening injuries.

Police have no leads on suspects at this point.
