Last updated on Wednesday, February 17, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) awarded $127,000 in livestock grant funding to 15 nonprofit organizations to fund projects that will foster growth within the Hoosier livestock industry. Total funding requested was $262,600.

"These grants become more competitive every year as more people become aware of this funding opportunity, and we enjoy seeing the new and innovative ideas that are submitted," ISDA Director Ted McKinney said. "The projects selected represent those that will have the greatest impact and that transcend the livestock industry. We are excited to partner with these organizations."

Grant submissions were reviewed by a committee to determine the programs and events that will have the greatest impact on all sectors of Indiana agriculture.

The following organizations and projects received funding (visit http://www.in.gov/isda/files/2016_Livestock_Grant_Recipients.pdf for a PDF of the recipients):

Information about the 2017 grant cycle should be available early fall. Non-profit organizations interested in submitting a grant proposal for 2017 should contact Agricultural Marketing and Industry Development Manager Kimmi Devaney at KDevaney@isda.in.gov.
