Juvenile Arrested After Making Cyber Threats To School Corportation

Last updated on Thursday, February 4, 2016

(MONTGOMERY CO.) - A juvenile is in custody for allegedly sending threats over the Internet to the South Montgomery School Corporation.

According to Indiana State Police, a threat was received on January 29 by email. Bomb dogs and police officers searched the school and didn't find anything.

On February 1, the Montgomery County Sheriff's office called the ISP Cyber Crimes Unit to assist in the investigation after more threats were received.

Another threat was received Wednesday, state police say. Investigators acquired enough evidence to question a 15-year-old suspect and take him into custody.

The teen faces preliminary charges of intimidation and false reporting. The suspect is now at the juvenile detention center.

At this time, investigators do not believe there are any additional suspects.
