(INDIANAPOLIS) - It started a month and a half ago with his surprise resignation. Now, the former Park Tudor boys basketball coach is in federal prison.

The FBI says Kyle Cox was arrested at his home in Fishers and had his first court appearance on Thursday. The charge is one count of coercion and enticement - it's related to a child porn investigation that started when he stunned the private school by stepping down in December.

It was surprising because of the success of Cox, 31. His teams had won back to back Class 2A state titles and were unbeaten to start this season. Then it all came crashing down, and federal prosecutors say it had to do with his private life. The FBI says he will remain in prison through the weekend, with another court appearance scheduled for Monday.

IMPD officers served a warrant with help from Fishers Police to a home on Erie Place in the Tanglewood subdivision of Fishers in January. The warrant was served one day after the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served warrants at Park Tudor, the elite school on the northside of Indianapolis, seizing several items in the process. "This search warrant was administrative in nature and there shouldn't be any disruption of the student's learning environment," read a statement from IMPD.

Park Tudor was hit hard again when headmaster Matthew Miller took his own life. Miller, 45, had been questioned by investigators, but the chairman of Park Tudor's board says prosecutors told them that Miller was not a target of the investigation.
