(EVANSVILLE) - An Evansville bartender is facing charges in connection with the drunk driving crash that paralyzed an Evansville doctor.

Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested 28-year-old Dawn Bunting Friday night on a warrant for Sale of Alcoholic Beverages to an Intoxicated Person.

Bunting works at Xcess, previously known as Scores Night Club.

That's where police say the driver, Travis Cox, was drinking before striking Doctor Conrad DeJesus, who was jogging along Riverside Drive back in April.

Authorities say Cox was three times the legal limit.

He was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison.

Shortly after the accident, Excise officers began investigating whether Cox was over-served alcoholic beverages at Xcess.

Besides Bunting's arrest, authorities also slapped the establishment with two administrative charges.

Police say the bar was cited for Sale of Alcoholic Beverages to an Intoxicated Person and Hindering Enforcement of the Indiana Alcoholic Beverage Code. That case remains pending with the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. Potential penalties could range from fines up to $2,000, suspension of the business alcohol permit, or revocation of the alcohol permit.
