16 People Arrested In Jefferson County Drug Trafficking Investigation

(LOUISVILLE) - Officers in Jefferson County have arrested 16 people after an eight-month drug trafficking investigation.

But Sheriff John Wallace says the effort may put only a temporary dent in the area's ongoing problem with methamphetamine and painkillers.

Police made the arrests on Monday.

Most of the 16 are charged with dealing in methamphetamine. Others are accused of making meth or dealing various painkillers.

They live in Jefferson, Scott and Switzerland Counties, in Indiana.

All 16 have initial court hearings in Madison Wednesday.

The Jefferson County sheriff's office says these people were arrested on Monday in the sweep of suspects:
