16 People Arrested In Jefferson County Drug Trafficking Investigation

(LOUISVILLE) - Officers in Jefferson County have arrested 16 people after an eight-month drug trafficking investigation.

But Sheriff John Wallace says the effort may put only a temporary dent in the area's ongoing problem with methamphetamine and painkillers.

Police made the arrests on Monday.

Most of the 16 are charged with dealing in methamphetamine. Others are accused of making meth or dealing various painkillers.

They live in Jefferson, Scott and Switzerland Counties, in Indiana.

All 16 have initial court hearings in Madison Wednesday.

The Jefferson County sheriff's office says these people were arrested on Monday in the sweep of suspects:

Kendrick S. Cloud, 22, Madison, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 3 felony, dealing in methamphetamine (2 counts) level 5 felony
Kayla M. Youngs, 33, Lexington, Indiana - dealing in a narcotic drug (2 counts) level 2 felony
Amy M. Smith, 38, Hanover, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 4 felony, dealing in methamphetamine level 5 felony
Lynn A. Coldiron, 53, Madison, Indiana - dealing in a scheduled IV controlled substance (2-counts) level 5 felony
Cynthia Kay Short Smith, 53, Madison, Indiana - dealing in a controlled substance (2-counts) level 6 felony
Ryan E. Kahn, 38, Madison, Indiana - dealing in a narcotic drug level 3 felony, dealing in a narcotic drug level 4 felony, attempted dealing in a narcotic drug level 5 felony
D. Mitchell Atkins, 31, Madison, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 4 felony
Amanda N. Dixon, 33, Vevay, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 3 felony
William L. Kirby, 39, Hanover, Indiana - dealing in a narcotic drug level 4 felony
Telly N. Cassidy, 39, Madison, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 4 felony, dealing in a controlled substance level 5 felony
Andrew Sexton, 25, Madison, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine level 4
Tina R. Kinirsky, 33, Madison, Indiana - dealing in methamphetamine (2-counts) level 4 felony
Brent M. Burnham, 26, Madison, Indiana - dealing in a controlled substance level 5 felony, dealing in a controlled substance level 6
Joshua A. Lee, 28, Madison, Indiana - dealing in a controlled substance level 4 felony, dealing methamphetamine 5 felony
Jonathan D. Taulbee, 21, Hanover, Indiana - manufacturing methamphetamine (arrested on a Kentucky warrant)
Kayla Meadows, 23, Madison, Indiana - maintaining a common nuisance level 6 felony
