(INDIANAPOLIS) - Many citizens on Sunday made the media aware of threats made toward Perry Meridian High School.
Superintendent Tom Little sent a message Monday morning saying that IMPD has arrested a student who allegedly made the threats. The message said the student has been suspended and will eventually be expelled.
The threats showed up on Twitter earlier that night, saying, among other threats, "I thank my dead uncle for him teaching me how to make military pipe bombs." Metro Police say they're aware of the tweets.
Little released a message to parents saying, "This evening, we received notification that a threatening comment was made against Perry Meridian High School on a Twitter account. We immediately contacted law enforcement as well as Homeland Security....Both law enforcement departments are currently working to trace this communication, and they'll spend the evening on this task. School will be in session [Monday] as scheduled. We take all threats seriously and additional security officers will be provided, as well as other precautionary measures. The safety and security of your children is always our highest priority."
