(POSEY CO.) - Investigators with the Posey County Sheriff’s Office say a 65-year-old woman is out more than $50,000, thanks to a Publisher’s Clearing House scam.
Sheriff Greg Oeth says the woman got a letter saying she had won more than $2-million. She was told she had to pay to cover fees and permits before she could get the grand prize.
Oeth says she was also asked to deposit a check and then mail her own check in the same amount.
Anyone with information is asked to report it to the sheriff's office.
