Last updated on Thursday, January 28, 2016

(LAFAYETTE) - Lafayette police made an arrest in a string of cases involving slashed tires.

On January 11, 2016, Lafayette police received dozens of calls about damage to vehicles. As of this week, the department said it had received 51 reports of slashed tires, although investigators are still getting a complete count on the number of vehicles affected.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested a 16-year-old on charges of criminal mischief in connection with the case. The juvenile was taken to Tippecanoe County Juvenile Probation. His name is being withheld because of his age.

Police said anyone whose car was damaged should file a report.
