(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police were investigating after a person was shot on the east side of Indianapolis Monday morning.

The shooting victim was in good condition, according to IMPD. The shooting happened before 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 1500 block of Olney Street. Dispatchers said a woman was hit by a bullet that came from outside the home. Police consider this a drive-by shooting.

The woman was lying in bed when the bullet entered the home, hitting her in the arm and chest, police said. She was taken to Eskenazi Hospital. Police said five people were inside when the shot came through, including children.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
