(INDIANAPOLIS) - The state’s plans for a new state of the art mental health facility were released by Governor Pence.
Pence detailed plans to open the new neuro-diagnostic institute. It will open in 2018 and bring major advancements to Indiana's public mental health delivery system.
The new facility will be located on the city's east side on Community East Hospital's campus. It will house 159-beds and treat around 1,500 patients each year.
In a release Pence said is part of a commitment to improve health care.
"This new institute will serve as the centerpiece of our ongoing commitment to improve mental health care and address the scourge of addictions in Indiana," said Governor Pence. "This new institute is another part of our strong commitment to improving health care in Indiana and to caring for our most vulnerable fellow citizens, including those living in poverty, with disabilities and impaired from psychiatric illnesses, brain diseases and addictions."
