(UNDATED) - Starbucks is set to roll out a new menu which will include alcoholic beverages.

The coffee store chain is expanding what it calls Starbucks Evenings, an effort to get customers to Starbucks at times other than when they buy their typical morning coffee.

The way to do that, is offering wine and craft beer along with appetizer-style dishes.

According to a press release, Starbucks rolled out the concept to 70 stores already, and it plans on expanding to 2,000 locations next year - including roughly 15 in Indiana.

Select Indiana stores could be selling cocktails during evening hours beginning in March.

Three Starbucks locations have already received a license to sell beer and wine from the Indiana State Alcohol and Tobacco Commission - two in Fort Wayne and one in South Bend.

Five stores in Indianapolis have applied for a license, along with Starbucks stores in Greenwood, Carmel, Fishers, Plainfield and Zionsville in the metro area. Michigan City, Munster and Columbus Starbucks locations have also applied for alcohol licenses.

The permits would allow Starbucks to sell alcohol after 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and after noon on Saturday and Sunday.
