(VERMILLION CO.) - On Friday night a 911 call in Vermillion County sent deputies to the Clinton Walmart with reports of two men fighting and one with a handgun.

A road rage incident on State Road 163 started the altercation.

Deputies ended up arresting John Thomas on preliminary charges of battery.

Deputies say punches were thrown multiple times, the fight made its way into the Clinton Walmart.

The other man involved told Thomas he had the hand gun on him and feared for his safety.

It was determined he has a valid Indiana personal protection permit.

Walmart management separated the two men and held them until deputies arrived.

Thomas was released from jail after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.

Surveillance footage and other evidence are being sent to the Vermillion County prosecutor for review.
