(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) announced over $9 million in funding for the Stormwater Improvements Program (SIP) was awarded to 11 communities throughout the state.
"We know that SIP plays a vital role in assisting our communities who suffer from flooded property or inadequate stormwater management systems," said Bill Konyha, OCRA Executive Director. "It is through programs like SIP that we are able to aid communities in providing a quality of place for its citizens and further assist in alleviating our cities and towns from the expenses and decreased property values that result from flooding."
The SIP is funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) with the goals to:

There are two steps to the application process: the proposal and the application stages. The proposal stage allows OCRA to conduct a site visit with the community and also ensures the project is likely to meet one of the CDBG national objectives before submission.
