(PRINCETON) - An attorney for a man facing numerous charges for a crash that killed two in September has told a judge he will not seek a change of venue as originally planned.
The Princeton Daily Clarion reports defense attorney Daniel Moon told Judge Earl Penrod on Tuesday that he will not seek a change of venue for the trial of James Allen. He previously said he would because of media attention.
Authorities say Allen was driving a 16-passenger van that was carrying 22 people in September when it overturned on a southwestern Indiana highway. Allen is charged with two felony counts of causing death when operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance and numerous other charges. He has pleaded not guilty.
Allen is being held on $5,000 bond.
