(COLUMBUS) - A man's attempting to spend a fake $50 bill led to his arrest Saturday evening near downtown Columbus.

According to Columbus Police Sgt. Matt Harris, officers were called to the 1200 block of Washington Street just before 99 p.m. Saturday after a report that a man had tried to spend a fake $50 bill, and then ran from the store before officers arrived.
