Purdue University To Break Ground On Two New Animal Science Buildings

Last updated on Thursday, November 5, 2015

(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue University plans to break ground on two buildings for animal sciences research and education.

A ceremony is scheduled for Friday to mark the start of construction of the Hobart and Russell Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences and the Land O'Lakes Center for Experiential Learning. The buildings, scheduled to open in 2017, are being named in recognition of gifts of $5 million from each set of donors.

The university says the buildings will promote efforts to improve the safety and quality of meat, eggs and milk production; advance livestock efficiency; enhance animal health and wellbeing; and develop biomedical knowledge to help find solutions to human disorders and disease.
