(MEDARYVILLE) - Indiana Conservation Officers responded to Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area (FWA) from a report of suspected deer poaching in progress.

Once on scene, ICO's made contact with 35-year-old Bra Ha, of Indianapolis, who stated he was squirrel hunting in the area and admitted to be in possession of deer meat and explained the other three subjects were still hunting.

K-9 Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and the Monticello Police Department arrived to assist with an area search for the other subjects.

A short time later, 28-year-old Hae Reh, 21-year-old Davic Chun, and 30-year-old Meh Reh, all of Indianapolis, were located.

The subjects admitted to shooting a whitetail deer with a rifle and processing the animal in the field.

Officers also located additional bags of deer meat and a dead wild turkey concealed in the brush near their vehicle.

With the assistance of property personnel, the carcass was located in the field along with a large amount of trash.

Multiple citations were issued to each subject for illegal taking of a whitetail deer and wild turkey. The meat and several firearms were seized as evidence.

All four subjects were also ejected from DNR properties for one year.

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind the public to report illegal hunting activity to the Indiana Turn-In-A-Poacher Hotline. 1-800-TIP-IDNR or ICO Dispatch at 812-837-9536
