Last updated on Monday, November 16, 2015

(BARTHOLOMEW) - Indiana State Police arrested a Columbus man after they received a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber-tipline.

Police served a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of Fairview Drive, Columbus. As a result of that search, police arrested 24-year-old Matthew M. Jones on a charge of possession of child pornography.

The investigation by Indiana State Police detectives began after a tip was received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber-tipline. Detectives as part of the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force executed the warrant with the help from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Detectives.

A forensic examine was performed on electronic equipment seized at Jones residence.

The Indiana State Police would like to remind the public to report criminal activity involving child victims to the nearest police agency or by going to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber-tipline at missingkids.com.
