(OWEN CO.) - A Sunday evening accident in Owen County killed one and sent a child to the hospital.
The accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. north of Spencer on U.S. 231.
Officials report a 1995 Ford van was travelling south on U.S. 231 when it left the road for an unknown reason and struck a large tree head on. 24-year-old Shaun Richardson of Worthington was pronounced dead at the scene. His four-year-old child was flown to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis for unknown injuries.
The condition of the child is not known at this time.
