Newburgh Police Continue To Look For Victims After Sexual Assault Battery

Last updated on Thursday, October 8, 2015

(NEWBURGH) - Newburgh Police say three women have come forward saying their boss made advances toward them, and they are concerned there may be more victims.

Police say Joseph Hardesty works at Integrity Insurance Advisors on State Street. That business is located right next to the police department.

The police chief, Brett Sprinkle, says a woman, who was visibly upset, came to the police station in September and reported her boss touched her inappropriately.

He says Hardesty made those advances and the victim turned him down on a Friday. Sprinkle says when she went into work that next Monday, she was fired.

Since then, two more women who worked there have come forward with similar allegations.

Hardesty used to work for two parishes within the Diocese of Evansville.

Diocese officials say he was a Pastoral Associate at St. Ferdinand in Ferdinand and the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at St. John the Baptist in Newburgh.

The Diocese says they have no record of any problems with Hardesty during his time at the parishes.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim to contact Officer Ryan McIntosh at (812) 853-1723 Ext. 304.
