Mom Gets Home Detention, Probation In Neglect Case

Last updated on Wednesday, October 28, 2015

(NEW CASTLE) - A 24-year-old Henry County woman has been sentenced to six months of electronic home detention and six months of probation in a child neglect case.

Sheena Zanghi pleaded guilty earlier this month to four counts of neglect of a dependent as part of a plea agreement. Her husband, 38-year-old Vincent Zanghi, pleaded guilty to four neglect charges and was sentenced to one year in jail.

The Muncie Star Press reports that the couple was arrested last October after their four young children, who were all under the age of 4, were found living in a mobile home east of Summit Lake without running water, electricity or a working toilet.

Investigators said the children appeared to be malnourished and one of the 14-month-old twin girls suffered a skull fracture.
