Skinned And Dismembered Animal Bodies Found In Terre Haute

Last updated on Wednesday, October 7, 2015

(TERRE HAUTE) - The bodies of an estimated eight animals, all skinned and dismembered, were found dumped in a Terre Haute alley last week.

WTHI reports, a tip led Code Enforcement officers and county health department officials to the gruesome scene between 15th and 16th Streets.

The animals were mostly goats and possibly a coyote or a dog. Code Enforcement told News 10 they had all reportedly been dead for at least a week.

The incident is being treated as an animal abuse case. Law-enforcement officials have yet to make any arrests.

PETA - whose motto reads, in part, that "animals are not ours to abuse in any way," is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Terre Haute Police Department at (812) 238-1661.
