Last updated on Friday, October 23, 2015

(COLUMBUS) - A bicyclist who blew through a stop sign and rode the wrong way down the street in Columbus Tuesday morning went to jail on drug charges and outstanding warrants.

Sgt. Matt Harris, with the Columbus Police Department, says that officers saw 40-year-old Kevin J. McCarty riding the wrong way down the street and then go through the stop sign at 22nd and Cherry streets.

When they pulled him over, they found out that he had two outstanding warrants for failing to pay child support. As officers arrested him, they allegedly found two syringes in a backpack he was carrying.

He was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of a legend drug injection device and the outstanding warrants.
