Woman Tells Jury She Was Held Captive In Wooden Cage

Last updated on Thursday, September 17, 2015

(MOUNT VERNON) - A woman testified that she went to a rural southwestern Indiana home to party with a couple before being held captive in a wooden cage and repeatedly raped over a two-month period.

The woman took the witness stand Tuesday during the trial of 38-year-old Ricky House Jr. on rape, criminal confinement and kidnapping charges.

The Evansville Courier & Press and WFIE-TV report the woman told Posey County jurors that House and his girlfriend 45-year-old Kendra Tooley threatened to kill her if she tried to escape. Tooley's ex-husband testified he helped the woman escape in September 2014 after realizing she was being held captive.

House's defense attorney says the woman was at the mobile home of her free will. Tooley's trial on similar charges is scheduled for next month.
