Woman Faces Charges In Infant Son's Death

Last updated on Friday, September 11, 2015

(MUNCIE) - A central Indiana woman whose husband was charged last month in their infant’s son’s death now faces neglect and other charges in the case.

21-year-old Sheryl Ashley Wallace was arrested Wednesday on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent causing death and obstruction of justice in her son Jensen's February death. The Muncie woman remained jailed Thursday. It was unclear if she had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

Wallace's 23-year-old husband, Cory Wallace, faces neglect of a dependent causing death, arson and other charges in his son's death.

The Star Press reports he's accused of dropping his son Jensen on a hardwood floor in the family's home, not seeking medical attention and setting fire to his son's room to hide the cause of death.
