Last updated on Friday, September 18, 2015

(LAFAYETTE) - Two Purdue University football players are facing charges for reportedly stealing bicycles.

The Purdue Exponent reports Evyn Cooper and David Rose, both 18-year-old freshman cornerbacks for the Boilermakers, were arrested around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The Exponent says the men allegedly stole bicycles by forcing locks off the bicycles. Cooper was reportedly arrested for theft and Rose for attempted theft.

"Coach (Darrell) Hazell is aware of the situation. We will let the legal process play out," Purdue spokesman Matt Rector said in a statement.
