Officials Announce Plans To Put Rolls-Royce Researchers At New Purdue Aerospace Park

Last updated on Friday, September 25, 2015

(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Rolls-Royce is set to take part in the first development at a new Purdue University aerospace technology park.

Officials detailed plans Wednesday for the park to house a research and development team from Rolls-Royce. Company executive Dennis Warner says the Purdue Research Foundation would build a facility where the team would develop and test jet engines and work with Purdue researchers.

Warner says students will be able to help with testing, and he says that could lead to them being considered job candidates.

Foundation president Dan Hasler says Rolls-Royce would take up most of the building, and that space would be left for other companies.

Purdue officials unveiled plans in April to establish the aerospace park.
