Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening Muncie Police On Facebook

Last updated on Tuesday, September 29, 2015

(MUNCIE) - A Muncie man has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to an intimidation charge linked to alleged threats made against police on Facebook.

The Muncie Star Press reports 30-year-old Cody Stamper pleaded guilty to the felony intimidation charge last week. A judge placed Stamper on two years' probation, and suspended a two-year jail sentence.

Stamper was accused of posting ominous comments about Muncie police on Facebook, including about Muncie Police Chief Steve Stewart. An affidavit says Stamper wrote that he wanted 30 seconds with Stewart with "no cameras."

Police say Stamper fought with officers when they arrested him in June.
