Last updated on Monday, September 21, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - 49-year-old Marvin Sharp was found unresponsive at 8:17 pm on Saturday inside his cell in the Marion County Jail, as a result of an apparent suicide. No foul play is suspected.

WTHR reports, a follow up investigation is being conducted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Sharp was arrested on August 24th, 2015. He was being held on four counts of Child Molestation, and four counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. He is also facing federal charges.

Sharp was accused of molesting a girl he was coaching for two years. She was 12 years old when the alleged abuse started, and a report described numerous occasions involving molestation. The girl said she was afraid Sharp would hurt her or kick her out of the gym if she didn't go along with it. Read more about the allegations Sharp was facing.

The charges stemmed from a raid on Sharp's home in August. Thousands of files containing child pornography, including image files and a video, were found during the raid.
