(JASPER) - A southern Indiana group is hoping to raise $5,000 to cover the veterinary bills of a young dog struck and badly injured by a car.
The 1-year-old Chihuahua mix named Kloe suffered pelvic and femur fractures when she was hit by a car last week in Jasper.
She's recovering from two surgeries, but the Dubois County Humane Society is trying to raise the $5,000 to pay her medical expenses.
Volunteer Jordan Wehr tells The Herald Kloe is sweet and "all she wants to do is snuggle."
The humane society had a similar fundraiser two years ago after a dog was hit on Interstate 64 in Ferdinand. That dog recovered from a badly broken leg and was later adopted by a family.
